The above training durations exclude, but are not limited to, DGCA licensing, visa applications, weather disruptions, and remedials that might extend the duration of the cadet training.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the IndiGo Programme:

  • Must be between 18 and 32 years of age
  • Have a valid passport and the unrestricted right to live and work in India, with the ability to travel unrestricted worldwide
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Able to obtain and maintain Indian DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Minimum education qualification: 10+2 with minimum score of 51% / Grade Point 6 / Grade C1 – individually in each subject i.e. Physics / Mathematics / English or a higher degree in these subjects with minimum of 51%
  • Candidates not possessing an Indian Class 1 medical can apply for the IndiGo Programme with a Class II medical, however they must possess an Indian Class 1 medical prior to commencing on the Programme.

Assessment & Selection

If you fulfill all the entry requirements, you can proceed to submit your application for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program. The team will then review and verify your application. If it meets all the criteria, you will be invited to take the CASS assessment tests at our assessment center.

Stage 1: Online Assessment Test

  • During this stage, you will undergo:
  • Computer-based tests
  • Pilot aptitude evaluation, including hand/eye coordination, motor skills, and spatial awareness
  • Academic, mathematical, and technical proficiency assessment
  • Multiple-choice technical reasoning test
  • Dynamic multitask test

Stage 2: Group Activity

Upon passing the online assessment, you will be invited to a group activity assessment with a selection panel from IndiGo. This stage focuses on evaluating your communication skills and team coordination.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

The final stage involves a one-on-one personal interview with the IndiGo selection panel. After successfully completing all assessments, you will receive your results and be invited to a Letter of Intent (LOI) signing event.

Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)

CAE’s Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) programs are designed to train students with minimal or no prior flying experience, equipping them for a career in the airline industry immediately upon graduation. These programs offer comprehensive training that covers all essential aspects of flying, ensuring graduates are fully prepared to meet the demands of airline operations and secure employment with airlines right after completing their training.

Phase 1: Theoretical Knowledge Training

  • Learn the ATPL related theory knowledge across 14 subjects including the new EASA subject KSA 100
  • Includes the new Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) training
  • Blended learning approach with both virtual and practical classroom lessons, Computer Based Training (CBT) and student-led private studies

Phase 2: Single Engine Flight Training

Phase 3: Multi engine Flight Training

Phase 4: Airline Pilot Standards Multi Crew Cooperation (APS MCC)

  • Approximately 5 weeks

Assessment

Stage 1: Online Application

CAE will review all candidate applications to determine if they meet the criteria for the Integrated ATPL Programme. Successful candidates will be invited to proceed with an assessment conducted by CAE.

Stage 2: ADAPT Test

Candidates who pass the initial screening will be invited to the next assessment stage, held either virtually or at CAE locations across Europe.
The assessment includes:
  • Personality Questionnaire – evaluates typical behavioral preferences and tendencies
  • Progressive Mathematics – assesses understanding of key mathematical concepts
  • Progressive Physics – evaluates understanding of key physics concepts
  • Cognitive – measures cognitive abilities and reasoning skills
  • FAST – assesses learning potential and multitasking under pressure

Stage 3: Personal Interview

In this stage, candidates will discuss their motivation for becoming a Commercial Airline Pilot, their understanding of the program, and the level of commitment required. Candidates should also prepare examples of teamwork and leadership experiences, which can come from educational, extracurricular, or work-related activities. Successful candidates will be offered a position in the Integrated ATPL Programme.
